Managing patient records efficiently is crucial for healthcare providers, ensuring that each patient's data is up-to-date and linked to the correct account. However, there may be instances where a patient’s app account needs to be linked to a new patient record. When a patient comes in for a new injury and a new account is created, switching accounts within the same clinic can be a straightforward process if done correctly.
Follow these easy steps to migrate a patient’s app account from an old record to a new one, ensuring that all necessary information is preserved and linked correctly.
Step 1: Access the Old Patient Record
- Locate the old patient record in the system. This is the record where the patient’s app account is currently linked.
- Navigate to the Patient Details tab within the old record.
- Look for the vertical ellipsis (three-dot menu icon) then select Change EHR Account. This option allows you to link the patient’s app account to a different patient record.
Step 2: Enter the New Account Number
The system will prompt you to enter the account number of the new patient record that you wish to link to the app account. Ensure that you have the correct account number for the new record ready.
Step 3: Confirm and Complete
Once you’ve entered the new account number, the system will automatically link the patient’s app account to the new record. Double-check the details to ensure that the correct information has been migrated. After confirming, the patient’s app account should now be successfully connected to the new patient record.
